A fine and rare item for vintage aviation postcards and KLM collectors. Original real photo postcard showing vintage KLM aircraft. Information and tecnical details on the back in Dutch, like crew, passengers, maximum speed, cruising speed, engine type, length, wing span etc.
Undercarriage: nose wheel and 2 head wheels with hydraulic systems. Large pantry with 4 electric cook plates and 2 refrigerators. Dress chamber and toilettes for passengers.Delivered new to KLM as PH-TAU "Utrecht" on May 28, 1946. Sold to Capital Airlines in 1950 and converted to L-049D as N86531. Later flown by Modern Air Transport and Belize Airways. Finally it was used as a bar-lounge in Metairie, LA.This aircraft has registration number: PH-TAU. Picture shows PH-TAU, description notes on PH-TAV. 7 person crew, 43 passengers, 4 Wright Cycloon engines. Cruising speed: 400 km/hr.
