BRITISH RAILWAYS - 1940's - DORSET BY TRAIN BROCHURE - RARE
A fine and rare item for railroadiana and British Railways collectors. Original British Railways promotional brochure from late '40s or early '50s about travelling to Dorset by train. Cars on the street are from the '40s. Seven days pass is only 15 shillings. 3rd class ordinary return fares from London's Waterloo Station are included. Vintage pictures from the Wessex County of Thomas Hardy's novels, of Dorchester, Abbotsbury, Sherborne, Lyme Regis, Weymouth, Swanage and a great aerial of Lulworth Cove. Also fine illustrations, Dorset map and a locomotive picture for you to identify (an early description for this in a British auction house states that it is an unrebuilt M.N.).
Printed in Great Britain by John Wright & Sons Ltd at the Stonebridge Press in Bristol, England. Reference No: AD6666/A60. Approximate size: 10.0 x 22.8 cm folded, 40.5 x 45.7 cm spread out. You can both sides of it, scanned in parts then graphically reconnected. In excellent condition. Do not miss this rare item.
